My Quilts

Dog Gone Cute

If you find yourself with smallish pieces of fabric that aren’t exactly kid-friendly, make them into fun animal blocks!

I found this fantastic pattern from Sew Fresh Quilts and just knew I had to try it.  I used all stash fabric and scraps.  The large blocks finish at 18″ x 12″, so just 6 blocks and a thin border makes a great RMH quilt!  Don’t worry, these aren’t paper pieced!  Lorna does a great job designing these simple blocks.

Here is the link to the blog hop including pattern so you can pick your own pups to make. You can customize your own dog once you get the hang of it.  Make sure to check out the other blogs to see the variations made during the contest.  I can’t wait to make a few more in some crazy colors!

Once I had the top done, I had some fun with the quilting. Here are a few close-ups:

I hope you give this pattern a try. It’s so fun to see the little pups come to life 🙂
