My Quilts

Sydney’s Wedding Quilt

I don’t think I’m alone wishing 2020 was over. It has been frustrating, sad, anxiety-ridden and costly in so many ways. However, I am hopeful that it will bring change in many of the ways we work together, see each other, and support one another.

This month, my first niece got married. We already had to cancel her shower in April, and all her plans were turned upside down. I cannot imagine the stress this caused to my sister and niece, but they pulled off a beautiful day for Sydney & Sebastian. A quaint wedding at Neltner’s Farm under a huge old sycamore tree, followed up with a casual BBQ at the house with immediate family and friends. The happy couple was adorable, and now they can start their journey together as Mr. & Mrs.

I’ve been dying to show you all the quilt I made for her but couldn’t until I gave it to her 🙂

This pattern is called Fanfaire by Krista Moser. She came to the quilt store near me in Georgetown called Birdsong Quilting, and my sister and I were able to take a class with her.

I made the quilt into a large queen and adjusted the pattern to make sure the start was centered on the bed.

I had Michele Figgins quilt this on her longarm. She works with Junk Drawer Fabrics in Melbourne, KY and does a really great job! She’s very reasonably priced, has a great selection, and takes a lot of care with your quilt. This is the 2nd one she did for me. This one, I asked her to chose the thread color and pattern. What a great job on this modern quilt!

Our CQ group hasn’t been able to meet lately due to COVID, so I thought I’d share this to bring a little color to your email 🙂

Stay well!

~ Emily
