Charities · Free Patterns · My Quilts

My friend and I talked about starting a news channel that had continuous videos of puppies, kittens, mini donkeys, screaming goats, and any feel good story that would make you smile and laugh streaming, while at the bottom, the ticker would show you the straight forward news.  Nothing sensationalized, just the facts, but on the main screen, reminders of why we are here and good things are out there.  I don’t know about you, but I’d watch that.

On June 13th, the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild put a call out for quilts for the victims and the families of the victims of the Pulse shooting.  They asked for rainbow hearts and provided the heart quilt block pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew.  The heart block finishes at 10″ and would be great in the RMH quilts also.  Well, I quilt.  I have a stash. I have a heart.  I jumped in.  Here’s my quilt top:

Someone wonderful is donating quilt labels for these, so now I am waiting on that, then I can start quilting.  I used only my stash making it a super scrappy heart quilt. All different fabrics making up all different hearts for all different people.  Love is love is love…..

  1. I would totally watch that channel! Please add babies laughing uncontrollably and chubby people attempting to waterski. Absolutely love the quilt and the inspiration behind it. Well done!

  2. What a beautiful variation for these hearts! A wonderful quilt for a wonderful cause…I can’t help but think everyone who receives these quilts will be deeply touched!

  3. You did a sterling job on the quilt top. well done you! I have sent in one block but an entire quilt top is very generous indeed. Congratulations to the top that you completed in record time.

    1. Thanks Jen! I understand that dilemma. I’ve been staring at the top trying to decide the same thing. I’m going to have to creep on Instagram to see what others are doing for some inspiration. Good luck with yours. I hope you post the finished quilt!
