Ft. Thomas Group Session Recaps

July 2023 Session

This July, we had a mini sweat shop at the Ft. Thomas Library as we all got together and had a jelly roll race! It was nice to see everyone set up and sewing 🙂 Even though we all blamed Bev, I think it was a lot of fun and it was a nice way to get a quick quilt done. Brenda was the speediest and won a charm pack and a cute pen cup from Junk Drawer Fabrics.

The race was a great way to highlight this month’s themes, jelly roll and/or medallion. We had several quilts turned in that we’re calling medallions since they started with an orphan block and were finished by adding strips or blocks.

We had a total of 38 quilts/blankets turned in this month. Ronald McDonald House Kentuckiana in Louisville reached out in need and we committed to our July & August quilts from our group to help them out and a sister group in Colerain is also donating.

Here are the rest of our lovely donations:

Next month, the themes are strips and mythical, so bust out those unicorns and dragons and finish up your jelly roll quilts (they become strips in August) and bring them to Ft. Thomas on the 1st Tuesday.

See you then!
