Ft. Thomas Group Session Recaps

June 2017 Session Recap

Last night we kicked off year 3 in Ft. Thomas for the Ronald McDonald House Comfort Quilters. We welcomed a new quilter too!

For the last couple months, we’ve been collecting heart blocks to make a few community quilts for the House. We had enough to make 3 quilts. Those blocks will be made into beautiful quilts soon!  This month’s challenge block was a Christmas present block from Sew Fresh Quilts. These are so cute and easy to make! If you didn’t come to the session but want to participate, please visit the page and make a block (or several) with white background fabric and any fabric choices for the present. These blocks are due next month at our special Christmas in July session on the 5th. Let’s try to get some community Christmas quilts in from our group!

Ok, enough talk, here are the awesome quilts that were dropped off last night. These were quilts completed from kits:

Here are a few quilts that used some creative quilting to make some fresh new looks:

Lesley, one of our satellite quilters, got a little crazy with chenille!

Brenda had a blast with this super cool Batman quilt:

Na na na na na na na … BATMAN! sorry :/

I finally finished a quilt I started well over a year ago. It’s called Picnic Pinwheels, by Patch the Giraffe. I like to try new blocks or patterns out in this perfect RMH CQ size to test them out.

Which I also did with some scraps and this free and easy Moda pattern, Out West quilt.

I apologize for the sun glare on the pictures. These quilts are really beautiful and I’m sure the kids at the House are going to love them!  Keep the coming ladies!
