Last night was another RMH success! The quilters rose to yet another challenge I presented to them, the Curved Log Cabin block. This is a fun quilt to make with many different options when it comes to layouts:
There were also a few over achievers who turned in the challenge due next month! We had a quilt block swap a few months ago, and now quilters are tasked to make a completed quilt with the blocks they picked up from the group. Here are a few:
We had several kit quilts and a panel finished that were adorable:
Brenda got crazy with this super cute lighthouse themed quilt:
I made a crazy print Swoon quilt, because I can:
I also presented two new patterns to see if the group wanted to use them as challenges, so you may see more of these cute patterns soon. The first was a simple pattern that looks difficult called Simplify from Cluck Cluck Sew:
The next was from Sew Fresh Quilts called Smitten Kitten. How cute!
The July challenge is for everyone to make a teen boy quilt. I have a Free Patterns page within my blog I update as people send me great patterns that work or can be adapted for RMH quilts. I also came across this wonderful link: Free Quilt & Sewing Patterns. So many patterns to check out! You’d have to dedicate several days to view them all.
The House also challenged all the groups to make giant gift bags so that parents or Santa can pack up all the wonderful toys and gifts people donate and distribute them to the children. Our group turned in 23 last night! That was the magic number because we also had 23 quilts completed.
Happy 4th of July to everyone! See you next month!
