Whoa, it’s December. The year is almost over and it FLEW by! We ended 2019 with an energetic evening hosting the Newport Central Catholic cheerleaders helping us cut stockings, make 180 ouch buddies and draw some really cute blocks with fabric markers that we will turn into at least 3 quilts! We also appreciate the fabric donations you brought to our group! 🙂 Thank you so much ladies!
We took in 31 quilts this month and 42 stockings. We are at 61% of our goal for year 5 with 5 more months to go. The expansion at the House is steadily moving along and soon we will be serving 3,500+ families at the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House, the biggest in the WORLD! Tell your quilting buddies or anyone thinking about starting a new & rewarding hobby, we need all the help we can get!!
One of our quilting buddies who moved to New Hampshire sent me a box of RMH goodies including these two finished quilts:
Here are a bunch of other awesome quilts using square blocks:
These use the 10″ block with a smaller 4 patch:
These strip quilts are great ways to clear out some of that stash!
Someone got fancy with some strategic placement of their HSTs making this beautiful star quilt:
2019 has been our most productive yet with 352 quilts turned in for the calendar year from our group! The hard work from our members – those who come to the sessions monthly, just pop in, or work from home, and the generous donations of fabric and items we receive will hopefully continue and make 2020 even better as we support each other and this wonderful cause. Thank you all for your efforts and support =)
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family and a very safe new year! See you in 2020!
